i learned a lot todaythat paper is a trip
they molecularly charge the paper at the mill to repel pretty much everything but the specialty ink mix. there are 2 types of ink you can use, normal ink and UV ink. the UV ink is ideal but needs a press with a UV lamp to dry it. our press doesnt have that lamp. so they ran 1000 of a 10000 run to test. they put a porous aqueous coating on it so the ink can *maybe dry underneath. if it works, they will drop another non porous aqueous 36 hours later. they had to use a different powder to separate the paper at the end of the run because the powder they were using was making the solid coverage form a scale like texture.bloody hell!!
