  @bobkat - there's a good reason they never took off in Australia or New Zealand - we actually know and appreciate what good coffee is...

  Most Aussies or NZers won't touch a Starbucks coffee with a ten-foot pole when you can easily pick up a better brewed, cheaper coffee from just about every run of the mill cafe in town.

  Starbucks seems to do well in countries where there is only shit coffee on offer, and the public don't seem to know any better - e.g UK and the US.
