someone i know recently graduated with a b.a. in graphic design. they spent a year working as a waitress while looking for a job as a designer - but couldn't get one, and couldn't land a paid internship either.

they've just scored a job at a major university - teaching.

and not just in the design dept, but have been given the role of teaching a class called 'real world application of your design degree' and have been put as a sort of guidance councilor for graduates on how to find work...

i know the saying is sometimes true: "those who can't, teach" ... but this is just a bit ridiculous and pretty unfair to the students.

    • yikes ... the students will find out, toomonospaced
