The s100 has a fraction more detail in RAW and a lot more detail in jpeg. The s100 has better color depth, dynamic range and is better at high iso (aperture-zoom range differences aside).

I guess you havent held the s100, you must be thinking of the s95. The s100 has a sandpaper like finish, its very grippy.- detail here too -
