Depends on if you want to stay doing creative or not. Aside from career, if you find doing creative work rewarding, you should keep trying. Self promotion is the hardest client you can have.
If you can't find a job in your core discipline, it could one of the following:
- your work does not reflect the job you want.
- you expected to land a job thinking that a BFA degree will get you any job you want.
- you don't really love designing.
- you don't do a lot of personal work to show case your talent which can't be shown with client work.If you still want to be a creative but can't find with in your learned discipline, you should explore other creative disciplines:
- writing
- painting
- industrial design
etcIf you picked creative because it sounded cool and thought you would make lots of money, go back to school and learn something else.
