    I tell my clients "I'll give you an estimate for the total project, it's based on $____ per hour. If we go over the allotted time, I'll let you know and the cost will go up. Don't worry, I almost always get the project done within the estimated hours."

    This lets them know that they are paying for the project, rather than the hours, but I've found that it helps them to understand that they shouldn't ask for indefinite revisions.

    Maybe this isn't the best way, but it's working for me, for now.
