yes hackers love mac, look at the results of the pwn2own blackhat contest of the last few years.
2007: In the first contest, Dino A. Dai Zovi and Shane Macaulay worked together to take down the first MacBook Pro.
2008: In the 2008 contest, a successful exploit of Safari caused Mac OS X to be the first OS to fall in a hacking competition.
2009: Charlie Miller performed another successful exploit of Safari to hack into a Mac.
2010: (On March 15—nine days before the contest was to begin—Apple released sixteen patches for WebKit and Safari.) trying to cheat eh? but the result was? *drum roll* Charlie Miller successfully hacked Safari 4 on Mac OS X.
2011: During the first day of the competition Safari and Internet Explorer were defeated by researchers.
A secure os, it is not.
- would you agree it's more secure then windows?akrok
- most of the hack demonstrated requires the user to click on a link.pango
- Although the Mac base grows, it's still more security by obscurity than the actual underlying OS.ETM
- difference is, once a flaw is found, Apple release a patch quick. Microsoft take aaaaaagesautoflavour
