oh yea, myself and herself have used interrail a few times over the last few years - it used to be for students but they made it available to everyone.
depending on were you are going and for how long there are plenty of good things to know about interrail such as how to use night trains for extended coverage on your day allowance.
off the top of my head, my favourite train trip was from Sarajevo to Mostar.
