On the laptop I got for my missus to Hackintosh it was stupidly simple.
Dell Inspiron 1525 just took a bootloader disc then it installed Snow Leopard Retail, and everythign works out of the box. The only thing I needed to do was create a new Keyboard layout as it is different to the Mac one.
£150 for a Macbook with 2.2GHz Dual Core (C2Duo), 4GB Ram, 500GB 7200RPM Hard Drive was pretty good just over a year ago.
Oh, I think the Snow Leopard I used a slightly modifed one, with the common sleep issues solved by deafult.
