It took me 13 years to realise that true love first comes from within - loving yourself (listening to and respecting your needs, feelings, intuition, trusting yourself and not hating yourself for making mistakes) allows you to love others and to be loved. This enlightenment changed my whole perspective on life.
Fear and love can not coexist.
If I were you I would be more afraid of ambivalance - here life will be stagnant and stale.
This is only 'scary' because you perceive it that way - change your outlook and embrace it - see this an essential step on learning about yourself and love, a chance to be a better person. If she really loves you she will respect you for being true to yourself and her. Stop being afraid.
