You say you've spent the last 13 years with each other every day.
Did/Do you do stuff together like go out?With her doing her PHD she's back to being a "student" again so is mingling in those circles and has been seeing what a good time other (single?) people have and that's why she's maybe going out with her friends more these days too.
If you've noticed these changes in the relationship then she wil have too (if its not deliberate) so i'd confront her about it and make some suggestions of how you can spice up your life together again.
If it is deliberate and she's purposefully being awkward etc then it's probably because she wants change but is too chicken to say it and is maybe trying to stir you to the point where you end it.
Don't dither, man up and confront the girl.
It can only go one of two ways.
- you sort it out = all good
- you's split up = bad short term, good long term ... move on and find a girl who gives you butterflies and not grief.
