right raw video files from cameras are not made for editing so you should convert them to a temp proxy file, could be anything really try a few different ones. Use these to edit then replace them when you render. There is an actual 'replace' function in premier.
- lower the bitrate for the new files. its a pain in the ass but really the only way to go, i've gone through this with .mts files from a cameraeieio
