I'm doing a bunch of west coast traveling right now. I really lucked out and got an RV for free that has 6 bunks built in the back. But, between all of us and subletting my apartment, it's cheaper than anything else even with gas included. We can live, sleep, and cook in here and stay warm because weather is rainy and wet up in the pacific northwest right now. Rentals can very but you might be able to find something cheaper or the same price as getting a motel every day. It's easy to find places with RV ceptic dumps and hook ups so when you're parked you're not using the on board water and power. I highly recommend doing it this way I will certainly be doing this again.
and tripping balls in the redwoods and having somewhere warm and dry to lose my mind was amazing. :D
