    My stance is this:

Nobody can prove God exists. But if the belief that he does is something that provides a foundation in people's lives, helps them live a morally good life, be good to people around them, and generally just allows them to find strength in something bigger than themselves, then who cares what anyone thinks?

People do that with Star Trek. They do it with comic book characters. They do it with other stuff the believe in and are inspired by. Any one of us can go stir-crazy debating whether it's true or not, but to any individual person, if it's something they find strength in, who are we to take that away from them, or to disrespect that?

Beyond that, it's none of my business what people believe. I don't like religion being shoved down people's throats. I can't stand it's place in elections. It disturbs me greatly that people are running for president that would make decisions because God told them to do something. But beyond that, it's not my place to question what a person believes. I am a Christian, try to be a good person and live a good life, and have had points in life where a connection (and you can define that however you want) with God got me through some really difficult times. Was God really there or was it my imagination? Shouldn't matter to anyone but me.

    • my problem is that religion often promotes some of the most immoral actions and thoughts in human historymonospaced
