The amount of simplistic responses in this threat shows how under educated people are about nutrition. So, let me help.
We eat for two reasons:
a.) provide fuel for our body
b.) provide pleasureYou cut out one of the above and you are risking failing. The food fuel is made up of many, many ingredients thus it NEEDS to vary greatly. The dumb fuck who eats meat all the time will get sick as easily as the dumb fuck who eats lettuce. Why? Because both provide only small fraction of the VARIETY that the body requires. Thus it's imperative to vary your food greatly.
Pretty much every diet talks about the health benefits but barely any diet speaks about the pleasure of eating. You NEED to get pleasure from the activity of intaking food or you will get tired or bored of thinking about food rather then simply enjoying it. Thus you need to change your food philosophy. Don't think that you are on diet to loose weight, but rather be on the diet because the shit simply tastes so good. Which brings me to my last point, people really have to up their food standards. Majority of people haven't tasted a good salad, a good soup, hell even a good steak and thus they sustain themselves with awfully tasting (but healthy, they are told) meals that give them no pleasure and thus at any moment they are prone to go back to their old habits.
- actually you can get everything the body requires from non-animal sources. fact.scarabin
