I got like 7 of those notices from Comcast regarding downloading copyrighted material. Unfortunately my Comcast notices were going to an old email account i never check, so I didn't see them until they had piled up.
So far nothing has ever come of it, and of course I have stopped downloading shit; it's not worth the risk. What's stupid is, it was stuff that was available from Netflix, I just was too impatient to wait for the disks to arrive. Lesson learned.
Back in May, a district court Judge ruled that an IP address is not a person, and denied a company access to subpoena ISPs for personal information.
