NEX has the bigger sensor, different crop factor, better low light. But again the NEX is more point and shoot orientated with few buttons and access to controls can be quite frustrating given its P&S style interface.
Also the E-p3 makes v v v little gains (if any) in IQ over the previous E-pl2 model. Its very expensive for what it is. But it does have a high quality touch screen and the fastest autofocus of any m43 camera (along with the GH2), but autofocus is of no importance to you.
E-pl2 might be the best bet. Manual control, in built image stabalisation, combined with the awesome high resolution attachable Electronic Viewfinder (VF2) you can get for the pen models.
