I stay in brooklyn for a few months every winter. The only reason why I don't like the Greenpoint area is because the G train only runs in brooklyn which means you could be waiting on it for a while. I always get stopped up at the G train. I have a friend that lives over there and it would be faster to walk the distance after rush hour sometimes.
I have stayed in Park Slope and though a lot of people make jokes about it being infested with strollers, I quite liked how peaceful it was there. It's easy to get to the city.
I also stay quite often in Williamsburg. I spent about 3 months there last winter off the graham stop. It was just a few stops outside of manhattan and just a couple more stops away from union square. I loved it there and I'm definitely going back this winter.
Have fun with the move. New York is awesome.
- fucking G train. Every week or two I go to Greenpoint on the G. It's the bane of my existence. Worse than the R.bulletfactory
- I've learned with brooklyn it's all about how close you are to a reliable train.shellie
