Microsoft - getting better at design. Hours aren't bad, you can do a lot if you're good, and they can use good designers.
Apple - high profile, but long hours... a friend works there. Came to visit me, got a call at 10am on a Saturday to do comps right away
Google - they're the new MS in terms of Engineering led companies. Designers are useless there.
