    I went and got a couple books that I would've bought anyway. Not really bargains @ 10% off, though.

    Depending on the book, I'm willing to pay a few dollars more so I can see it in person and judge for myself if it's in good shape before I buy it.

    Pricing aside, it was hella depressing. It was like a funeral in there. Nowhere to sit. All chairs, tables stacked and roped off. They wanted us in and out.

    I'm a fan of the small corner bookshops, who I think will eventually out-live all the chains. But I did enjoy going to Borders and smelling those vast mountains of fresh paper and ink, getting a coffee and a stack of books, and plopping down in a big chair by myself for a couple hours. Imho Barnes and Noble typically has far worse selections. I wish they'd gone belly-up instead.
