    I've seen their ads before. They pay REALLY low, as in less than what I was charging while I freelanced while I was in school ...and they ask for a bunch of experience and qualifications. But if I were in their position I'd do the same thing, gotta make loot you know. And it's their connections.

    What you should do is look for other freelancers with similar skill sets as you, and find out what they're charging. Search the web. Search forums. Then go out and market yourself to ad agencies and network using LinkedIn. Work with them directly.

    However, if you're just okaaaay at what you do, then use them. The good thing about going through a recruiter is that you don't have to deal with all of the BS that can come from accounts payable when it's time to get paid. Those recruiters are usually always going to pay you on time, even if it's coming out of their pocket. You're the one making them money (but they're finding the work for you of course).
