Out of the blue, my friend in Portland died yesterday. I was looking forward to moving up there later this year and hanging out with her. She was only one of several people I knew up there. Knew her for 13 years. The medics cut her up and took her organs because she was a donor. One second you're hanging out at your house, and the next your eyes and liver are being pulled out of your body.

And my old grandpa has been in the hospital for the past couple of days. He came to America a couple of years ago from Iraq as a refugee. The doctors just put him on life support a couple hours ago because his lungs are getting weaker. I went to see him last night, he was in bad shape... was struggling to speak and I could see the fear of death in his eyes. He was really scared. He was trying to talk to us the entire time, but we couldn't make out anything he was saying. It was frustrating for him. Gonna go see him again in a little bit.
