    What do you want to get out of your travelling experience? You just want to take a break, see the work, then go back from whence you came? Or are you looking to travel with the goal of moving country after you've figured out which one best suits you?

    If it's the first option, then don't be too cheap with yourself. Yeah, watch the finances, but also splurge on occasion.

    If it's the second option, you'd better stick to being as cheap as you can, cos you'll need the safety net, just in case.
