  as far as i can tell you're suggesting i worry about a scenario in which the nearest town (gerlach-empire, pop. 499) is going to suddenly become so upset (during the one week of the year burning man exists) about a hypothetical, non-existent road being made through it that we'll know about it in the desert and become so cross that everyone but me will go home, leaving me alone at center camp.

  is that really what you're saying? 'cause that's kind of crazy.
