You can educate them. Let them know your process: the time involved in developing concepts/directions, their responsibilities as clients to provide timely content, feedback and decisions, the number of revisions you anticipate, and the hours you think each stage will consume. This process ensures a quality product and leaves nothing to the imagination. Then you can start talking about prices.
