No shit? Virgin's internet service is consumer bullshit for proles who don't really use the internet much. I bought into their whole 'mega fast uber service' years back, but quickly realised how much total bullshit it is. The only avenue then to make an official complaint was to send a goddamned letter — like, a paper one. In the 21st Century.
Do yourself a favour and go with a vaguely real internet company like Be, rather than merely brand-packaged Virgin schlock.
