This what my environment looks like:
I have a MacBook Pro with 2 systems Installed: OSX and XP via bootcamp. On OSX, bootcamp parition is hooked to Parallels, so I can use XP by starting VM.
I also have an old HP laptop that also runs XP and I use remote desktop to get access (mac to hp, hp to mac).Two, I have worked in workplaces where Windows was the primary system, but we've never had problems with access to network shares while using Macs from time to time. Mac had different accounts/users but while connecting to the Windows network share, we were using AD accounts. So each time when we were mapping network share on mac, we were asked to provide windows credentials.
- I had this EXACT setup at my old job, and I use this same set up currently at home minus the XP box. Works flawlessly.elahon
