Someone wrote recently that the difference in the way iPhone and Android phones are sold is this:

"The next Android phone will be the best phone ever!"
    ...as opposed to...
"This iPhone is the best phone ever!"

It sounds like a smartass generalisation, but isn't it true?

I am a pretty much satisfied iPhone user and only occasionally lurk into the Android scene. The overall impression I get that Apple sells the same phone all the time, only gradually improving it once a year while the Android is all about the next phone which will shit on its legacy and the is hackable/isn't hackable OS shenanigans.

I mean, the apps I bought on my first iPhone still work on the most recent iOS. Not all, but I think most new apps work on my gf's first-gen iPhone. I mean, the usable ones, like Angry Birds, Scrabble, travel guides, language handbooks or task management ones work and she has no need to upgrade.

Just curious, do old Android apps work on latest phones?
