My wife is not a designer, but I like that she understands and appreciates what I do.
She's the first person I have review all of my designs before I send them over to my clients. She has a good initial reaction that's either positive or negative, and right then and there I know if I have more work to do.
The more she has learned about my work, the more her feedback has become articulate and helpful.
I don't really "talk design" with her, but that's never been a huge interest of mine. I just like the fact that she can play a role in my projects and help me with my work.
