Why are people here comparing the US to Egypt?

Like US soldiers didn't rape and kill people in Vietnam... or any other country they've occupied.

This is my take on it - she was taken away by pro-Mubarak fuckers that were pissed that their man was ousted by pro-democratic/freedom loving citizens...who are "must be" for freedom of press therefore the messenger gets beat down.

My question is however... is sexual assault the same as rape? I mean did they strip half her clothes down and aggressively grope her or did they gang rape her like a passed out college girl at the wrong party?

I think a lot of people are drawing conclusions... and to compare the people of the US and the people of Egypt, to me, is ridiculous.

    • I think you are drawing a conclusion that they were Mubarak supporters.DrBombay
    • Nah, I'm giving the benefit of the doubt to the people who demand a free press.SeriousFreelancing
    • why is it ridiculous to compare to the two people?set
    • Jumping to the conclusion that free press supporters would never rape someone.DrBombay
    • I'm trying to see the difference in the two parties... one oppressive, the other stressing freedom, and I drew a conclusion.SeriousFreelancing
    • Because you can never fully understand a culture when comparing it to yourself.SeriousFreelancing
    • The very act of comparison is limiting... it's a form of insecurity alsoSeriousFreelancing
