    Skeletonboy!!!!!

    comparison of the GF1, e-p1 and e-pl1 -
    http://www.qbn.com/topics/636491…
(im gonna have to add the E-pl2 to this soon i think)

If size is of the UPMOST importance, a GF2 would be a wise choice, however, its touch screen appears to be a bit temperamental, and as there is no mode dial atop the GF2 you will be using the touch screen to change mode.

If you wouldnt mind a slightly bigger cam, id go for the GF1 or E-PL2.

as you can see its not that much smaller, perhaps when you go to a shop and hold them it may seem a lot smaller, but i dont think its worth paying the extra cash for a new model, which is a tiny it smaller, but otherwise identical to the GF1.

Not only that i think the GF2 only comes with the 14mm pancake, and the 20mm pancake is the best m43 lens there is which you can get bundled with a GF1.

Just remember the pen cameras have better jpeg noise reduction at high iso, so the out of camera jpegs look better than the GF1 at high iso.

The pen cameras also have better colours in their jpegs, only slightly, but they are warmer and punchier making more images 'pop' (yes i said 'pop', fo!). but if you process RAWs its irrelevant really.

The pens focus slightly slower, BUT this is because of the Olympus lenses, put a panasonic lens on a pen body and its faster - only a tiny bit slower than a panasonic body + panasonic lens.

    NOW!
if you dont want an additional EVF and dont need a built in flash, i would actually recommend the E-P1.

Its soo cheap, takes amazing pics, great high iso. Its pics are a tiny tiny bit softer than the E-pl1 (due to the e-pl1 having a weaker AA filter), it has a metal solid body (unlike the E-pl1's plastic) and has a slightly bigger LCD than the E-pl1.

The additional EVF to the GF1 / GF2 / LX5 is no where near as good as the olympus one.

If you would want to use an EVF and want an inbuilt flash i would wait a short while for reviews and then probably got for an E-PL2.

It improves on the LCD of the E-pl1 by having double the resolution, has a much better button set (the e-pl1 buttons feel a bit cheap), has a new lens which has attachments (wide angle, macro etc) and can take the awesome oly EVF.

    Hope that helps!
