    Ok, so the mini dips you see each year are just the normal drop-off in searches over the christmas period. They'll be there for whatever term you search, for example here is the insight for the term "Lawyer" – same xmas dips.

    The overall decreasing trend is nothing to do with coding getting harder (what a conceited thought!). If you bothered to read what the graph was measuring you'd see this:

    "The numbers on the graph reflect the number of searches that have been done for a particular term, relative to the total number of searches done on Google over time. They don't represent absolute search volume numbers"

    So, as you can imagine, since 2004 there has been a massive increase in google searches. Since the graph shows the number of searches for a term relative to all total searches, you would expect to see the graph in decline as total searches increase.

    So if (for example) the ratio of searches for Graphic Design vs Total Searches were 1:1,000,000 in 2004, and 1:2,000,000 in 2010 then you would see plots on the graph descending between those times (as you do)
