I'd like to see the end of letterpress being fetishized ad nauseum by a zillion designers who've got hold of a press and declared they're 'setting up a print shop supplying artisan print work'.

    1. If you are doing this, please stop using card stock that's like sheets of marshmallow and creating 2mm deep bite into it. Its really quite the opposite of what the genuine letterpress printer aims to do. Bite is actually bad. Bite is quite different from embossing or debossing. If you want to emboss or deboss, do it properly, not by fucking your metal like toddlers with Fisher Price toys.

    2. Stop using stop using card stock that's like sheets of marshmallow. If you want to show how talented you are, do letterpress on bible parchment without biting through so it falls apart and without gluing the stock to the master with the ink.

Proper letterpress requires skill and knowledge. Stop fetishising it badly for the sake of last year's trend. Its tired already, and that's a tragedy, because it shouldn't be 'trended' into obsolescence, it should be respected, and learned, and kept alive through faithful adherence to the craft.

Fuck all you 'small traditional craft print shop' wannabee cockwobblers.
