i.e. the original has lots of Red, so you go to the red curve and take that down, by matching the value to the red value of the "white" image, which is probably very low. The White images has some BLUE, so you would increase the blue curve a little on the original image.
If you take a few readings of the RGB values, you get an exact match, a little brightness/ desaturation will finish the job.
