So I just cancelled my account, I had zero reason to extend it for even one more month considering there is nothing on there. They have some decent flix but they've been seen before and they don't seem to really have much originality in the selection or new ones. Some of the movies I wonder how anyone thought it would be a good choice for netflix, there's a doc about NASA that shouldn't even be shown on public TV. Some titles can be legally seen for free by anyone on youtube and else where. If they're planning on expanding the site's content they better hurry up because they're going to lose a shit load of the initial members they've gotten since they launched.
Netflix seemed to make a lot of mistakes entering the Canadian market. One was not even attempting to appeal to Canadians, no canadian section and they didn't even attempt to get original canadian content besides TPB etc. I can think of a more than a few titles and series that would appeal to canadians for on demand streaming.
Another was putting the 'cancel membership' option second in the account panel. Thats nice they made it easy for me to find but like if you're a company depending on membership fees to cont. you should at least make it a little difficult to figure out how to cancel the account. I also expected to be bombarded with survey questions before I cancelled, why are you leaving? what can we do better? etc. They asked enough questions using the site asking for ratings and taste preferences they should ask why I'm cancelling my account before they've even charged me anything. New companies always push customer feedback surveys and I sort of wanted to let them know what they were doing wrong.
