Mexico is amazing! i spent 4 weeks there last year, and like places like Thialand, full of genuine people that live to survive, but care so much to help others, very unlike my time in California which i also enjoyed, but at a site seeing level than obnoxious Americans.
Be sensible dont goto Tijuana etc. explore the culture and you'll be rewarded, seek out the lo life and you'll recive, no different that going to anywhere else, i live in London, but do yousee me in Brixton on a late night, no! because i excerise judgement on not putting myself in dangerous positions.
Read the Rough Guide, lot of good tips.
Go forth Muchacho and explore, and maybe hot up many hott mexican chicas!
