Net 30 used to standard when times where good here in LA. Sadly as agencies suffer or agency billing is low they transition to Net 45. If you're told their payment cycle is Net 90 I'd be worried about doing business with them because that's bankruptcy territory. A healthy agency should have a healthy billing cycle with their clients. A lot of the larger studios went to Net 90 and the agencies that didn't have healthy billing passed that Net 90 directly on to their freelancers. Sort of a "hey you'll get paid when we get paid deal" but as a freelancer you shouldn't be forced to subsidize an agency's image with a client. They look good while you're still waiting for income. Then again as a freelancer it's best to have a robust client base to help with these payment gaps.
