What do you childless people think we were doing before we had kids? We were working nights and weekends. The entitlement generation drives me nuts, you want what everyone else has but you don't want to pay any dues for it. If it'll make you feel better work really hard on nights and weekends for about 15 years, then start a family and buy a house. Then when you walk into your office one day and see that kid half your age who's disgruntled because he has to work nights and weekends and you get to spend time with your family, you can promote him into your position and you can quit your job, because that would be the fair thing to do.

I guess ultimately the OP is saying that life isn't fair. WELL WELCOME TO THE WORLD! Oh, and you say you have to work weekends and nights, WELL WELCOME TO GRAPHIC DESIGN AND ADVERTISING!

I would venture a guess that every person on this forum and beyond is trying to figure a way to work less and make more. That's the holy grail. So stop your whining and get in line because we're all in the same boat.

Also, I have 2 children. You think you're working hard, but I can tell you you are not, but you will not understand this until you have your own kids.
