    Look, if it were me and some single dude working on a project, of which we have equal stake and ownership of, and i needed to cut out for some parenting duty, i'd make sure that 1) it was absolutely necessary that i go, right at that moment, and if so, 2) i'd make sure to balance out the workload somehow (bringing work home to work on after the kids have gone to bed, while my biz partner is home in his apartment jerking off or playing xBox).

    If you're shirking responsibilities, you're shirking, regardless of whether it's to go get a drink or go tuck your kids in. i think it's more a matter of parents having the gumption to stick up for their time and priorities more than those who feel like they don't have an excuse.
