    I agree .. If you concentrate on suggesting luxury through aesthetics - you'll never succeed, because a lot of depth will be missing from the brand image. I think an important factor is longevity. People choose to _invest_ their money in luxury items.

    In terms of design, attention to detail indicates careful consideration and quality - but more importantly, brand connotations need to be carefully built up over time.

    In which case, a key factor will probably be your choice of association, and the way you develop a strategy for making those associations apparent.
