In what amounts to an admission of guilt - Damien Hirst has announced to the press he will be paying an undisclosed sum to charity as an out of court settlement for infringement upon copyright of Humbrol's 'Young Scientist' toy. The undisclosed sum will be donated to two British charities, Children Nationwide and the Toy Trust.

Further restrictions will be placed by Humbrol on the artist's reproduction of 'Hymn', Hirst's sculpture now owned by Charles Saatchi and currently on exhibit in the show 'Ant Noises' London. The Hull-based toy manufacturer sells over 10,000 toy sets of Anatomy Man per year and said they must protect their interests as Saatchi originally offered to sell small reproductions of 'Hymn' in his gallery shop and give a share of profits to Humbrol. Whether this arrangement will go forward, remains to be seen.
Hirst said: "I'm delighted that this matter is settled to the satisfaction of all parties concerned."
