He's only gone and done what the likes of Picasso and Dali did before him and realised that they have a "brand" and decided to cash in on it and make the most of it.
If people are willing to pay the money for what they create then more fool them.
The same could be said for the likes of Shepard Fairey and Banksy.
You'd be stupid not to capitalise on that kind of situation too if you suddenly became a "famous designer" and could command stupid money (more than the actual worth) for what you do. Why the f*ck not. Everyone's out these days to screw YOU out of money (energy companies/banks/taxes etc) so why not , if you get the chance, screw others out of money who have more money than sense?
