I wouldn't worry too much about it Olly. At least half of the criticism being fired your way is surely rooted in jealousy. Sure, Olly takes some influence from designers like Saul Bass, but I think the strong reaction and coverage of his work shows that there is room for his more poignant, pop-culture influenced take on this style in today's design scene. Furthermore, if what Olly were doing was easy, the countless imitators (seriously, I see a new minimalist movie posters link practically every day) would be achieving the same popularity. The appeal of his work is more about his ideas, not just the aesthetic. Though it DOES have clear influences, Olly's stuff is far smarter and better than almost anyone else working in that style, the kid has something special, get off his back.

    • Jealousy? Are you serious? I could take the Saul Bass style and run with it myself easily. You're a tard.
