It looks good to me but I agree with a bit of color included. You can do some good stuff with heavy solids in the background and maybe even some sort of reflection in the water of something related to the school or location or audience.
Maybe add some detail to the black areas to more obvious to those who will see it but not know what it is. Even though it is in the native area anyways. Right?
