If the drive is removable, doing so and putting it in an enclosure for data extraction is the safest way. Otherwise target disk mode is the quickest/easiest way to try to get files off it.
Sounds like what EKSEMA did was attempt some homebrew repairs without knowing what he was doing and ended up fubaring his laptop.
- No I didn't. I followed simple steps like clearing PRAM and stuff as mentioned on apple website.ESKEMA
- I'm not stupid. But trying to start up a malfunctioning Logic Board a few times doesn't do it good.ESKEMA
- And when it happened to me, my warranty had already passed out, didn't think they could fix it for free.ESKEMA
