    On Jimmy Kimmel last night, his theory was that this was all about Jack's final 'test' of himself - him facing his internal struggle to save, and care for everyone else, except himself. The island odyssey was him coming to terms with his internal demons. When he sits down in the church and accepts his fate, he dies and escapes the island through death - (his eye closed).

    I agree though - too many unanswered questions left after six years - as in all the one's that MrMackem pointed out above. Glad as hell that is all over with!

    • That seems like the only explanation that gives proper closure, although it sort of makes all the other character irrelevant in the end like it was 'all a dream'. :|Funkmonk
