"Designers crying over pixels while you're trying to fix the database carnage"
Having the same person creating the layout code and work on the database seems wrong to begin with. It's been mentioned here before but knowing how to write good HTML/ CSS is a skill unto itself, not some minor technical detail for a PHP developer to toss off on their spare time.
