I've got an 8 year old Lacie, still going strong, but had a couple of the newer ones since and they have all died, power units failing. Same with iomega, had 4 of them die at work in about 3 years.
Bought a 2TB mybook and so far so good, only had it for a couple of months though. It's pretty much silent compared to all the others I've had. It's got the 2 x 1TB drives mirroring each other so hopefully if one does go I won't lose anything.
