i totally hear you ponyboy, but think about mexico's economy and their natural resources they have to export. they have none really. they are a tourist destination for the most part, and a gateway of land travel from south america to the us for drug trade. no wealth trickles down there. most of the labor comes up to farm, build or clean. i hear you on the gang tip, but that is tied to the drugs. i grew up in a border town in las cruces nm, just outside el paso. i saw the gang element and also the farm element. the labor is so woven into the economy, its crazy. i just dont see many unemployed americans picking onions or cleaning hotel room to get by.. just being realistic here.

    • Mexico has the 13th largest economy in the world. Right behind India and ahead of Australia.monNom
    • Agriculture, industry/manufacturi... mining/minerals/ener... are all larger components than tourism.monNom
    • Per capita GDP is low, but to say that Mexico has no economy beyond tourism is a bit of a stretchmonNom
