i guarantee this is targeted directly at Wal Mart.
their are several other companies who have "signature" editions of their products at walmart, which are just re branded cheap versions of the original design. clothing brands are notorious for this. some times this is the only way they can lower their prices enough for sprawl mart to carry their cheapened shit.
